Hello friends and families,
Welcome back again! As promised, here’s our second post of the day. It feels like it’s been ages since the last one, even if it was only a few hours ago. As always, if I miss any photos from tonight, I’ll make sure to add them tomorrow.
Today was another lovely day, both because of the company and the weather. The sun was definitely as hot as its ever been since we arrived here. Maybe not quite Spain levels of hot, but it was certainly punishingly hot for our recent standards. Today’s big event was our excursion to Malton. We started the day with a shorter class and activity, swapping the groups around so everyone got the same amount of time. While one group was in class, the other had the chance to visit the famous Ampleforth Abbey. The abbey is visited by people from all over the UK, and even abroad, who come to see it. We couldn’t let the week go by without stopping in for a visit and, of course, making the most of the lovely tea room as well. Everyone had a good look around before enjoying a well-earned drink and a chance to relax in the sunshine.
After that, we headed into Malton. Often known as Yorkshire’s food capital, it’s a lovely market town full of independent shops, and it prides itself on its local and traditional vibe. It might not quite compete with York when it comes to shopping, but it’s always a really nice place to visit, and I think everyone had a great afternoon. Back at the house, we had one of the camp favourites for dinner: fresh pizza from the kitchen, followed by chocolate cake.
Then, by popular demand, most of the students settled down to watch the Spain v Belgium match with some cookies for a snack. Meanwhile, the rest of us watched Twilight and made some bracelets. So, one way or another, everyone got to spend the evening doing exactly what they wanted.
Tomorrow is the big day. The penultimate day of camp. We’re not going to think too much about that just yet, though. We’d much rather make the most of every moment we’ve got left together while we still can.
Have a great evening everyone, thanks, and see you tomorrow.

Hola, amigos y familias.
