Hello dear families! First of all, we are so sorry to keep you waiting all weekend for updates on our new adventures—but we were simply too busy living them!
Here is a look at what we’ve been up to over the last few days:
Friday at Sefton Park
We wrapped up our last day of classes for the week with a fun project where the students created their own countries, negotiated agreements with their classmates, and practiced their English skills. After lunch, we headed to Sefton Park, a massive green oasis in the south of the city. To get there, we took the train—an unexpected but very British experience! Once there, the students did a bit of shopping, enjoyed some ice cream, and explored the stunning park and its impressive Victorian houses.
Our evening activity was, obviously, the big football match! We lived through two hours full of nerves and high expectations, but it ended in pure joy. Let’s see if tomorrow we can see Spain beat France…
Saturday: Discovering North Wales
After getting some much-needed rest, Saturday turned out to be an incredibly exciting and intense day. We hopped on the bus and headed to Llandudno. We were very lucky to have an amazing guide who shared fascinating facts about the places we passed. Llandudno used to be a small fishing village, but today it is a beautiful seaside holiday town. We absolutely loved it there, and everyone enjoyed spending time by the beach—some of the students even tried traditional fish and chips for lunch!
Next, we drove to the medieval town of Conwy. Some of us went inside the famous 13th-century castle, while others enjoyed exploring the picturesque streets and doing some shopping. Last but not least, we drove through the stunning Ogwen Valley in Snowdonia National Park on our way to Betws-y-Coed, a charming mountain village that feels just like the Pyrenees, but British style! By the end of the day, we were absolutely exhausted, so we headed back home for a well-deserved pizza night.
Sunday: Free day at Liverpool
Sunday was the icing on the cake for our weekend! We were able to sleep in late, which we honestly really appreciated because staying energized here takes a lot of work. Once we were ready, we headed into the city center for some lunch, shopping, and more exploring. It was a wonderful chance for everyone to get to know each other even better.
We made it back in time for dinner, followed by laundry time—which was a total success! For our evening activity, the students got to choose between watching Avatar or playing board games and arcade games. It was a fantastic way to close out the weekend.
Today, we are officially starting our second and final week here in Liverpool. To be honest, time is absolutely flying because we are enjoying ourselves so much! We will keep you updated.
Hugs from Liverpool, and please enjoy all the photos from these past few days!
