Hello friends and families,
Welcome back once more. Yesterday was our first full day together as a group, and there was plenty to get through. We’ve only got a short time together really, so we’re already trying to make the most of every minute. It was also our first proper day of classes and activities. While one group was in class, the other took part in the afternoon activity, and then they swap over the next day so that everyone gets the same amount of class time and activities throughout the week.
Yesterday’s activity was a gymkhana. The students completed lots of different challenges, including some very creative posing tasks, as well as plenty of other outdoor games and team activities. It was a great way for everyone to get to know each other a little better, have a laugh and enjoy the sunshine. The classes have also got off to a really good start, and we’re very happy with how everyone is getting on so far. After dinner, it was time for our evening activity. Following some very serious (and slightly questionable) deliberations, we eventually agreed on The Maze Runner as our film for movie night. It turned out to be a great choice. It’s one of those films that gets everyone talking afterwards, so we’d say it definitely went down well.
We watched it in our theatre room, which is where we hold lots of our evening activities. It’s about as close as you can get to having a cinema on campus, and it’s a great place to spend an evening together. Tonight we’ll all be back in the theatre room to watch Spain take on France. We’ve invited a French summer camp that’s staying elsewhere on the campus to come and watch the match with us, so we’re hoping it will be a really fun evening. We’ve already had a chat with everyone about being good sports, whatever the result, but honestly these students have been so polite and respectful since they arrived that we’re feeling pretty confident it’s going to be a brilliant night.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by and reading the blog.
See you tomorrow, when we’ll let you know how everything went.

Hola, amigos y familias.
