Today was another unforgettable day exploring Donegal and the surrounding area! 💚
We started the morning with a trip to Sligo, where students enjoyed some well-deserved free time to wander around the town, explore the streets, visit the shops, and discover a new part of Ireland at their own pace.
After lunch, we hopped back on the bus 🚌 and headed towards Queen Maeve’s grave for an afternoon of hiking! ⛰️ The trail was definitely a challenge, with plenty of uphill sections that kept us working hard, but every step was worth it. The higher we climbed, the more incredible the views became! ✨
And waiting for us at the top was Queen Maeve’s grave 👑. Our coordinators told us all about her fascinating story and her place in Irish mythology before we walked around the site and began our journey back down. With the rain threatening to catch us, we made our way down rather quickly!
Along the way, we were surrounded by some of Ireland’s best scenery, with sheep, horses, cows, endless green landscapes, and spectacular views. It was definitely one of those afternoons that made us stop and appreciate just how beautiful this part of Ireland is.
Back at school, a warm dinner was waiting for us, which was very welcome after our hike! Then we headed back to the residence for the perfect final touch to the day: a campfire and disco night🪩.
And what a night it was! Everyone was dancing, jumping, singing along, and making the most of every moment together. After such an amazing day, there couldn’t have been a better way to finish it! 🎶
Another day, another collection of memories we’ll be taking home with us! 💚✨
