Today was the first day of our exciting adventure! 🤩 In the morning, everyone met at the school. Some students travelled by train from nearby towns to Newton Abbot, while others were dropped off by their host families. Once everyone had arrived, they attended a welcome presentation where they learned about the programme rules before starting their first English lessons. 📚🇬🇧
At lunch time, we enjoyed a lovely picnic beside the River Lemon, a beautiful spot in the heart of Newton Abbot. 🌳🌊 It was a great opportunity to relax, chat with friends and recharge before the afternoon activities.
In the afternoon, the students took part in a fun orientation challenge around the town. 🗺️ Working in teams, they explored the streets, asked local people questions about Newton Abbot and practiced their English in real life situations. They showed great confidence and teamwork. 💬✨
We finished the day with a fun game of baseball (or pitchi! 😄⚾️), and everyone had a fantastic time. After a day full of learning, new experiences and lots of fun, the students returned to their host families to continue enjoying their English immersion.
