Today was a lovely again, but this time we woke up early to make ourselves to Shrewsbury, a lovely city nearby where we could experience one of the most «British» villages in England.

First of all, we got to the Theater Severn, one of the landmarks of Shrewsbury.

Walking a bit, along the Severn River, we got the the beautiful Quarry Park, a calm and relaxing place with an enigmatic statue of Hercules. In the middle of it, the Dingle, a garden with a lake mixing the beauty nature and the relaxing vibe of an old English village.

We continue our journey, towards the city center. The Old Market, built more than 500 years ago, and surrounded by many stores and cafés, where the harmony of the city collides in a peaceful way. In front of the Old Market, and statue symbolizing peace and calling to stop violence.

Following, the St. Mary’s Church, build with red sandstone, with many years of history. The man in charge of it, gave us an explanation of the architecture, going through the story of the pillars, ceiling, walls, windows and much more. Good information to remember.

And then, he head to one outstanding place in the whole city: Charles Darwin old school, which is now the city’s library. With a statue of Darwin on the front, and could not miss it. We talked and explain some details about his life. Can you imagine he was not a good student? Or at least, that is what some professors thought.

And to finish our walk tour around the city, we went to the Shrewsbury castle, dated to have more than 1000 years, build over the only vulnerable point of the city, the entrance of it, as Shrewsbury is surrounded by the river Severn but over this specific point, where they decided to built a castle to defend their territory. Interesting, right?

At night, we played some arcade games, which was fun to see all of us getting together to explore news games, where we needed our strategy and accuracy to win some points.

Keep you posted about tomorrow!!
