Hello friends and families,
Sorry for the not posting. Yesterday was a busy day with the journey and arrivals, so I didn’t get a chance to sit down and write an update.
We’re now all safe and settled into Ampleforth College in North Yorkshire. It’s a beautiful boarding school with huge grounds and some incredible historic buildings, as you’ll see from the photos. One of the nicest things about the campus is the contrast between the old and the new. The house we’re staying in has all the modern comforts, including a pool table and table tennis, while some of the furniture dates back around 150 years. So it’s a really unusual contrast but I’m personally a big fan of the style of this place.
Once everyone had arrived, we took a tour of the campus so the students could get familiar with where they’ll be having classes and the different buildings we’ll be using over the next couple of weeks.
After that it was time for dinner. It was a bit of an adjustment for the students as dinner here is served at 6 pm.. but don’t worry, there’s an evening snack as well, so nobody will be going hungry, it’s just when people eat dinner here.
To finish the day we spent some time playing some getting to know you gamea before settling in to watch the football. That was the activity the students voted for, and judging by the atmosphere, I think everyone was happy with the result.
That’s all for now, but I’ll be back later this evening with another update after our first full day of classes and activities. There’ll be plenty more to share.
See you later !

Hola amigos y familias,
